The Noise This Week

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, designated after the assassination of the Mirabal sisters, and we've rounded up the things that have been making noise in our circles this week.



The parents of a 6 year old girl have been awarded a five-figure settlement from the Local Authority after failing to protect her from being sexually assaulted by boys at school.


 

Cyber tracking software is horrifyingly allowed to advertise on Facebook, Women's Aid own research found that 29% of respondents had experienced spyware or GPS tracking on their phones.


 

Christopher Chope, the MP who blocked the upskirting bill, also objected to the anti-FGM bill presented in parliament on Friday.


 

A 14 year old girl who was segregated in a menstrual hut in Tamil Madu, India died during cyclone Gaja.
