The Noise this week


Women in Ireland gathered for a #thisisnotconsent rally earlier this week after a defence barrister used a 17-year-old's lacy thong as evidence of consent in a rape trial.

 

The top merchandising dogs at Marks & Spencer are letting us know that they think "must haves" for men are suits and "must haves" for women are lacy knickers.

 

On Saturday 24th November Men At Work are hosting a 'The Man Box' event in central Manchester. Speakers include Michael Conroy, Gemma Aitchison, Jonathan Best and Nina from The Freedom Programme. Tickets look to be sold out but you can follow the event on the hashtag #manboxmanchester.

 
 

A UN report has condemned the effect of the UK government's austerity policies on its citizens as “punitive, mean-spirited, and often callous." Women, as ever, are hit hardest and have borne 86% of the austerity burden.
